At Corner Squash, we believe that every player’s journey is filled with chapters, challenges, and phases that shape their path to reaching their full potential. Since our founding in 2013, we have been dedicated to building and improving players, with a strong emphasis on consistency — a key factor that sets us apart. Our holistic approach focuses on developing players mentally, physically, and technically, guiding them through every stage of their growth. From their first moments on the court to earning a spot in college, we are committed to nurturing resilience, instilling a champion’s mentality, and helping athletes understand what it truly takes to become a champion. At Corner Squash, we don’t just train players — we build champions.

MOSTAFA ESSAM
FOUNDER & DIRECTOR
Mostafa began his squash career at 8 years old at the El Ahly Squash Club in Egypt. He won nationals for U13, U15, U17, and U19, and went on to play for the national team that placed second the 2002 World Championships and third in 2003. As a junior, Mostafa rose to #3 in the world, and was in the top 100 as a pro. Mostafa served as junior national coach 2015-2019. He then moved to the U.S. to serve as an Assistant Coach at Heights Casino Squash Club from 2008-2013 before opening Corner Squash.

KARIM T. HUSSEIN
COACH & TOURNAMENT OPERATIONS DIRECTOR/PARTNER
Karim began his U.S. Squash career at Avon Old Farms School, where he was named All-American in 2014 and led his team to win High School Nationals for the first time in school history in 2015. Karim went on to the University of Pennsylvania, where he was named Rookie of the Year in 2016 and helped the team climb to #3 in the nation - the highest ranking in the program's history at the time. He joined the Corner Squash family after graduating in 2019.

ASHRAF YASSIN
SENIOR COACH
Ashraf began playing squash at age 11 in Alexandria, Egypt. He was nationally ranked in the top 15 in Egypt from ages 13-19, while playing as #3 for the Smouha Club Team. At age 20, Ashraf transitioned into coaching at the Alexandria Smouha Club, where he worked with many top world ranked players, including Nour El Sherbini (WR #1) and Marwan El Shorbagy (WR #3). Ashraf moved to the U.S. to join Corner Squash in 2018, where he continues to serve as Squash Coach.


SAMIR ELDEGWI
FITNESS COACH
Samir EL-Degwi is a highly accomplished squash coach and fitness specialist with a proven track record of developing elite athletes. With experience since 2011, he has trained world-class players, including Tarek Momen, with whom he won the 2019 Squash World Championship and finished as runner-up in 2018. He has also worked with Salma Hany, a former World No. 7. And many PSA players Samir specializes in enhancing players' technical and physical performance, fostering a winning mindset, and preparing athletes for top-tier competitions. His expertise has contributed to multiple championship victories, making him a sought-after coach in the international squash community.
HAZEM HELMY
COACH
Hazem is an experienced and dedicated squash coach with a passion for helping players of all levels improve their skills and reach their full potential. He began playing squash at the age of 5 and, as a junior, won 20 national trophies and medals, finishing his junior career in the top 5 under 19 in Egypt. Hazem played professionally for a year, reaching a career-high of 160 in the world rankings.
As a coach, Hazem began his career in 2020 and has since been part of the coaching team for former World Number 1, Mostafa Asal. He has coached at prestigious clubs including Al Ahly, Shooting Club, and Wadi Degla in Egypt, where he has guided juniors to win national and international trophies.
